sea, air & sun.

I'm in shorts and a singlet, and I already have a singlet tan - hello, summer! It's technically still Spring, but the past three days have been above 30 degrees and feels and smells like summer, so I'm just going to roll with that.

I have been OBSESSED with tumblr lately. Like, more than usual. So many amazing summery blogs, can't.look.away. Thought I'd share some of my favourites - essentially shorts and palm trees, it's the small things.

It's been an exciting (I use that term loosely) few weeks, guys. Firstly, I finished my degree! I am now a qualified...fine artist. Time to start thinking of a potential career path, Brodie!
Secondly, I started a new job at Kikki K, a Swedish stationary and gift store! A job where I get to sell amazing products, and a 40% staff discount? Unreal. It's exciting working in a new workplace, but I'm so much more excited about my pay check...it's been 8 months since my last one, ugh.

My friend and I have also started getting our asses into gear and we're starting to organise our overseas trip next year! We're heading to Europe and then America, for as long as possible. We went to a travel expo on Sunday and lugged home about a thousand catalogues, and a mock up flight itinerary. It's actually happening, I keep getting so excited! As far as Contiki goes, so far all we know is we want to cruise the Greek Isles. Bring it, Europe!

So much more to share, will have to wait. Off to go gallery hopping, seeing Our Idiot Brother with a friend, and then another friend's design exhibition (free beer and pizza, yay)!

lemlem.

I could have sworn I posted about these lemlem scarves ages ago, when I first saw them, but I cannot find any such record on this blog and I am a little disappointed in myself, to be honest. I was so head over heels for the neon/neutral mix of colours, I thought it was the greatest! They've just started circulating the internet again, with a new collection, and I am still impressed/inspired/wishing I had the moolah for one.

Wildfox Couture's Resort 2011

I can't believe I didn't post this earlier! I am sooo late. But when I saw the first look of Wildfox Couture's resort collect called 'A Place In The Sun', I totally fell in love. Not just with the collection, but how spectacular is the photography and styling? Love the location, the 70's vibe, the vintage feel...

See more here!

And then go look at the shots they put up of their new showroom (hello, amazing!). I like the ponies on the windowsill...

totokaelo.

Um, how cool is this scarf by designer U-Ni-Ty? So cool! And it's 100% wool, so you know it's going to be deliciously warm. If it weren't like, 25 degrees here right now, that would sound really really awesome! You can get it here on Totokaelo, along with so many other amazing things which I cannot afford...(Kind of in love with all their accesories!)

HETTERSON F/W 11

Hetterson stole my heart with their elbow patch sweater a while ago, and now they're back with even more beautiful garments to add to their collection. Follow their blog for more updates!

Love this look a hella lot. Damn you, Olsen Twin (??).

Her hair...

Wish I had the legs to pull this off!

Can't handle the fugly sunglasses, but the dress is fab!

SPRING

Outfit: ASOS; Necklace: Stone & Honey; Shoes: Urban Outfitters

I've been in a bit of a fashion flunk lately, I've seen plenty of things I like, but nothing I truly love. Inspiration, where are you??

There are a few things that I've noticed I'm yearning over lately: Stripes (still, but it reminds me of Summer which I'm excited for), clogs and geometric jewellery (always).

Really dying for those clogs from Urban Outfitters but I am so poooor. I'm considering waiting to see if they go down in price again, but most likely by then my size will be sold out (I'm an 8.5 in US sizes I think).

I'm so excited for spring fashion, I think I'm finally getting a little sick of coats and jeans. Seriously need to get into shape though, ugh exercise.

The weather is fantastic today so naturally I'm spending it inside on the computer. Need a life, guys.

Sunny Walker - Closet Visit

Stumbled across this amazing 'closet tour' of Sunny Walker the other day, found myself incredibly envious! You know Sunny Walker from Painted Bird, the amazing Californian vintage boutique.
I love seeing other people's houses/closets, it's so inspiring. I'm so jealous of people with amazing taste, especially in vintage finds. I cannot for the life of me thrift, I have no patience or creativity.

Loving her jacket in this photo!

I just love how summery all these photos are. I'm so excited for Summer!

You can see more photos here.

space nails

After seeing Tenneil's awesome space themed nails I decided to have a go at it myself.

I think possibly, if you look from a distance, and blur your eyes, they almost look neat-o. Pretty un-fantastic at painting my own nails and this was not a tidy job, but none the less I think they look pretty decent considering.

If you want to try it yourself, tutorials are here and here!

How gorgeous and simple is this necklace by elephantine? I'm really into simplistic jewellery like this, sometimes the most simple design turns out to be the most stunning.

It reminds me a lot of the morse code necklace which I was very lucky to receive as a birthday present last year. This necklace as well as my Laura Lombardi trapezoid necklace have resulted in more than a few compliments from strangers, and I'm sure this necklace would be no exception. Plus, it's the perfect length!

Saturday, 16 April 2011

Uhh, how perfect is this dress? It's the ultimate cute, but not too cute dress. Word on the street is that it's from H&M. Was just saying to a friend before how unfair it is Australians don't have access to H&M - some of the best outfits have items from there, I'm so jealous!

1. All Saints, 2. Monserat De Lucca, 3. Hetterson, 4. Zara, 5. Zara

Bit of an odd mix today! Of course I had to throw in the Hetterson elbow patch sweater that blog land is currently obsessing over. What I'd do to get my hands on that jumper! I'm so obsessed with jumpers right now...
Also, really dying to get a pair of chinos but I'm having the hardest time deciding which ones! So many different styles/brands/colours. I really love the blue of this pair but I'm thinking to play it safe, I might stick to a khaki colour, yes?

A few Zara mentions too, because I am getting REALLY exited about the first ever Australian Zara opening on April 20th! It has been a long time coming, first the rumours, and then the boarded up construction site in the city for what feels like FOREVER. It's great to finally have a date to look forward to. I've been saving my shopping urges, hanging out for a Zara spree. It's going to be crazy on opening day!

Been a while since I blogged, I've been in a funk. A two week long funk...

Oh, Ryan Gosling, you kill me.

Love this hair style but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Anyone?

Being able to design my own kitchen is a far far away dream, but I'm allowed to look...on that note, also check out the I gigi General Store portfolio...amazing!

Um, the most perfect location for movie night ever?

I could seriously go for a decent Thai coconut seafood laksa right now.

In LOVE with this look right now. Shirt under cute jumper with Raybans...complete with perfect hair.

Men get the coolest clothing.

In need of a new scarf, maybe this one from Zara...?

On a keen lookout for tops/sweaters like this. Anything with a high neck and nice cut. Anyone got any recommendations?

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, I'm off to get me some Ben and Jerry's in Manly while the sun's out!

Wednesday, 30 March 2011

This outfit and I would be very, very happy together. Sydney doesn't get overly cold in winter, but that couldn't stop me. Check out Need Supply's 'Weekend Lookbook' here, I love it!

Friday, 25 March 2011

1. Charles Sweater, 2. Hudson Bay Duster, 3. Kimono Dip Dye Dress, 4. custom terrariums, 5. Catbird earrings, 6. Pyrite Crystal necklace

I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on Svpply lately, add me there if you have one! It's so great, and at the same time, completely unhealthily addictive. It also reminds me how poor I am, and how much I cannot afford any of the beautiful things I find on there, especially anything from Calypso St Barth. I really could buy everything from that shop...

I had a stack load of photos from last weekend that I never posted, so I might cheat and post them this weekend considering tomorrow and Sunday consist of voting (boo) and lots of chocolate (and New Moon, shutup I haven't seen it) . My life is brimming with excitement as you can tell. I am going to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibition though, at some point (finally, I've been dying to see it!).

I also, very painfully, customised the blog a bit more. I think it looks loads better now. I hope.
